API Best Practices - Why is the office code an important identifier?

Each refresh token has access to one or more offices in Twinfield. Please refer to this article to learn how to retrieve a list of offices that your refresh token can access: Retrieving a list of offices that you can access

Suppose that your own software wants to show information about all the customers from all the offices listed above. It is very likely that each office uses the same range of customer codes. The table below shows an example. Both offices use the customer code range 1000 until 1999.

Customer 1000 is Oliver in OFFICE001 and Sophia in OFFICE002. Therefore the unique identifier should always be the office code in combination with the customer code.

  • Suppliers
  • Ledgers
  • Cost centers
  • Projects
  • Transactions
  • Most other things in Twinfield
